What gets photos rejected

The things that actually fail

Not general advice, just the specific traps in this document’s own rules.

  • The print process itself is specified, and it is the strictest of any document we shoot: dye sublimation, explicitly NOT from an inkjet printer, on heavy-weight glossy paper of at least 200 gsm.
  • That single rule disqualifies most home printers, most office printers and a lot of drugstore kiosks regardless of how good the photograph is.
  • No retouching, no shadows, no reflections, no tilted head. Hair must not obscure the edges of the face.
Reserve a time

Hold a time, and it’s yours.

Live availability straight from our studio calendar. A reserved appointment is $200 and always includes both the digital file and your prints. Same-day times show here when we have them.

Get it right the first time.

We shoot it, check it against Australian Passport’s own specification, and you leave with a photo that passes. If it is ever rejected, we reshoot it free.
